Abraham Ohene-Djan was born in Kumasi, Ghana. During his early years, he resided in Ashtown with his mother and aunt. His father, Dr. IL Ohene-Djan, a lawyer, lived and worked in the UK, while his mother, Florence Antwi, was a teacher in Ghana. In the early ’80s, Abraham’s mother also moved to the UK, and soon after, his father brought him to join them. Upon arriving in the UK, Abraham initially lived in Westminster and later relocated to North London.
He attended Finchley Catholic High School in Barnet, completing his GCSEs in 1990. From 1990 to 1996, Abraham pursued a BA in Media Production and earned various qualifications while simultaneously working on magazines and music videos. During this period, he produced notable music videos, including Wyn Marchel’s “G Spot.” Abraham also contributed to the design of flyers, posters, and magazines, such as ‘UP front’ for the Notting Hill Carnival and collaborated with sound systems like Rampage and 90% (now Awkaaba UK).
Between 1990 and 1996, Abraham ventured into the field of technical sales in Soho, London, all the while making visits to Ghana to install equipment for clients. During his initial trip to Ghana, he conceived and produced Smash TV, a youth TV program based on a concept by Talal Fatal. Additionally, he directed music videos for Talking Drum and Reggie Rockstone, marking the inception of Hiplife videos.
