The Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban S.K. Bagbin, has been re-elected as the Chair of the Conference of Speakers and Presidents of African Legislatures (CoSPAL) for a second consecutive term.
This re-election, held at the 2nd General Assembly of CoSPAL in Accra, extends his leadership for another year, reaffirming his role as a central figure among African legislative leaders.
In his opening remarks, Speaker Bagbin encouraged representatives from across Africa to unite in tackling the continent’s shared challenges. Emphasizing the need for collaboration, he pointed to critical issues like economic resilience, climate adaptation, and security threats, calling on African parliaments to work together on solutions.
“We face common challenges, and together we can work towards a better future for all Africans,” Speaker Bagbin affirmed.
He urged CoSPAL delegates to center their discussions on Africa’s collective future, emphasizing that the continent’s interconnected destiny demands cooperative legislative actions.
