England coach Thomas Tuchel has given Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah his first senior England call-up.
The 24-year-old is among 26 players selected to face Andorra in a World Cup qualifier on June 7 in Barcelona and Senegal in a friendly on June 10 at Nottingham Forest’s City Ground.
“We have some injuries in the central defender position and Trevoh stepped up massively since he came back to Chelsea. So since last camp even before he was already on our radar. But since last camp in the last months, He had a major contribution to the run of Chelsea that they still fighting for champions league”, Thomas Tuchel said.
“And he was one of their very consistent, most consistent and the best defenders. So, we think He deserves the call-up and maybe he gets his first cap”, He added.
Chalobah’s elevation caps a breakthrough season at Chelsea and follows his steady rise through England’s youth system, from the U16s to the U21s.
His inclusion is one of several notable decisions by Tuchel, who also recalled striker Ivan Toney following a strong campaign with Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia.
Chalobah joins four Chelsea teammates—Reece James, Levi Colwill, Noni Madueke, and Cole Palmer—in the squad, underlining the club’s growing influence on the national team.
The call-up marks a major milestone in Chalobah’s career and signals Tuchel’s confidence in the defender’s maturity and consistent performances at the club level.
