Black stars assistant coach, John Paintsil has sued seven sports stakeholders in the media space. This includes three media companies and four well known sports journalists.

The media companies are Multimedia group limited, Omni Media Limited, Angel Broadcasting Network and the journalists are Patrick Osei Agyemang widely known as Countryman Songo, Christopher Nimley, Saddick Adams and Veronica Commey.

The legal action taken by John Paintsil, is on the basis of what he claims as damaging and false reports made by the various defendants after he was appointed as assistant coach of the black stars.

Paintsil is known to have opposed the #SaveGhanaFootball demonstration which saw some of the defendants heavily at the forefront of it. Shortly after his opposing view on the demonstration, he was appointed as the assistant coach of the black stars.

His appointment called for a wide range of unfavorable opinion on him as a person -citing issues of competence, and also on the Ghana Football association.

The defendants have been given up to eight days to respond to the lawsuit.
